Fauna and flora
Genessee is an area of approximately 10km2 where flows the River Montmorency on 7km. The area shows a wonderful fauna and flora that hikers will enjoy all year long, whether by walking, skiing or snowshoeing.
The Beautiful Valley
The word Genessee means, in the Iroquois language, « the beautiful valley ». As the name suggests, Genessee invites you to relax and make contact with nature in a quiet and memorable environment.
Located in the MRC of La Jacques-Cartier, on the borders of the Seminar’s lands, this territory was originally part of the Lordship of Beaupré, owned by Bishop Laval in the 17th century.
Over the past 10 years, Genessee lands were purchased from more than 50 owners to make a single and magnificent domain for controlled hunting and fishing, but above all, an exceptional exploration of the fauna and flora where forests, mountains, lakes and rivers are maintained and protected.
